The Making Of The Open To Oneness CD

Lindsay Wagner's first meditation cd 'Open To Oneness' is a unique labor of love. She is passionate in her belief in our human potential and makes it her aim to awaken others to how extraordinary they really are.

Making the 'Open To Oneness' meditation cd was like being in the eye of the storm. It was created in just five weeks from start to finish, with Lindsay, Jeremiah and Gabreal working crazy hours to have the cd ready for Lindsay's UK tour this Spring. At the same time Lindsay was also packing up and moving house and trying to prepare for a three month tour of the UK and Ireland with her workshop. Gabreal was also simultaneously filming some documentaries. They are grateful to have accomplished what they set out to do and are very proud of the end result, but as Lindsay says about their work schedule, they "wouldn't recommend it or ever want to do it again! "

The CD came about after Lindsay was constantly being asked by participants of her 'Quiet the Mind & Open the Heart' workshops how they could continue the process themselves at home. Her first meditation cd became the answer. A background of beautiful meditation music and the invocation of the Oneness Meditation, an opening to experiencing our inherent connection to the whole of creation, the joy of being alive and the peace and potential we never dreamed we had. Lindsay explains, "Most of the time we don't experience our connectedness. Those fleeting moments when we do experience that I believe is our true potential, and I believe we have the ability to live there. It is just a matter of tuning into that."

The intention during the creation process was to stay in the eye of the storm while creating the cd, more discipline was required to stay centred and so the challenge of this resulted in serving the intention. Lindsay worked closely with Jeremiah, the composer, to achieve this without ever being in the same room. They had to work very fast to develop a common language of reference and Jeremiah feels Lindsay's vast experience helped enormously with this process. He also remembers "countless emails, phone calls, late night listening sessions, and unknown quantities of chai tea" being part of the creative equation. He "was up late a lot - often sending mixes out at 4am only to wake up a few hours later to call the producer and get notes."

Using the magical, peaceful sounds of the piano, guitar, flute and Mother Nature herself, the tracks were constructed to invoke a certain resonnance with the listener, with each piece of music taking them on a journey to the next piece. There were many challenges and alterations along the way. Jeremiah explains " We had some challenges keeping track of various versions - some were improvisations that were not meant to be considered for publication, but I'm pretty sure all the correct ones ended up on the CD. Many of the pieces had the tempo adjusted down from the demo versions - kind of interesting that we did that on so many of the selections."

The first track 'A Crystal Cathedral' is an invocation of the Oneness Blessing, in which Lindsay set her intention during meditation for every person that might ever listen. The journey through the cd continues, taking the listener into a deep state of relaxation, followed by a gradual awakening and then ending with a full re-activation of the system. Lindsay explains, "meditation is opening to the vitality that comes when you can get your mind to quiet down."

The result is a unique signature collection of meditation music composed especially for Lindsay and with the listener very much at the forefront of her mind.
